Harp Music for Your Wedding Ceremony

The music you use for your wedding can help to shape your ceremony by providing some main focal points. For more information about my Signature Wedding Package, please visit the main Wedding information page.

Ceremony Structure

When thinking about music for your ceremony you will probably want to consider the following times during the ceremony. As you plan your musical selections, think about the mood you want to create for your guests. Some pieces offer a serene, contemplative feel, while others suggest more of an up-beat, lively celebration.

Prelude Music

The Prelude is a mix of music that plays in the background as your guests arrive. It helps to set the tone of the event, and can range anywhere from quiet classical music to romantic popular tunes.

The Processional

The Processional plays as the bridal party enters, and lasts until the bride walks down the aisle. Some couples choose a single song for the Processional, while others choose different pieces for the seating of the mothers, the processional of the attendants, and the bride's entrance.

Ceremony Interlude

A Unity Ceremony is a great way to add another personal touch to your day. This can be the perfect time for light background music from the harp. You may also want to consider music as a backdrop for a prayer or meditation.

Recessional

The recessional is a particularly special time, as it will be the first music you share together as a married couple. This piece will accompany you as you walk back down the aisle, sharing your joy with your guests.

Postlude

Following the couple's exit, the Postlude music plays as guests transition to the next phase of the celebration.

Popular Musical Choices

The following songs are some of the most frequently requested for wedding ceremonies. Several of them work particularly well in certain portions of the ceremony, while others work well in multiple parts of the ceremony.

When thinking about the music for your big day, keep in mind that this is your special day. Any song that is meaningful to you would be perfect!
